Pokemon Go Valentine’s Day event with Gen 2 eggs

We finally have official confirmation from Niantic that the Pokemon Go Valentine’s Day event is now live! It may not be the big Gen 2 update that you were looking for, but it does involve Gen 2 and contains some great rewards for you to grab for a limited time only.

You just have to log in to the game to start playing the new Pokemon Go event and straight away you will earn double candy for Pokemon captures, Egg hatches, transfers to Professor Oak and also from walking your Buddy Pokemon.

On top of this you’ll get increased encounter rates for Chansey, Clefable and other ‘pink Pokemon’. The Gen 2 element included by Niantic will involve Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Smoochum hatching more frequently from eggs during the event.

Finally, Lure Modules will now last for six hours until the end of the event so this is great nws for those that need a little boost here.

When the Pokemon Go Valentine’s Day event ends: 11:00 A.M. PST on February 8, 2017, to 11:00 A.M. PST on February 15, 2017.

Are you happy with the event, or still sad that more Gen 2 content is still not available after weeks of waiting? Give us your thoughts below and keep checking back for when we’ll have more leaks to share.
