Pokemon Go down with failed login today

It looks like Pokemon Go servers just went down globally, for no reason. As far as we’re aware, there is no big Pokemon Go update planned for January 19 as an update has just landed but at the moment users cannot login to the game.

When that happens, all hell freezes over as well. Users are flocking to Twitter to report the outage and sadly if you try to login to Pokemon Go right now, you may see the following image every time.

Given that Pokemon Go servers are down globally, it looks like this is unintentional and not planned maintenance from Niantic Labs – you may also be suffering from a ‘Unable to authenticate’ error on Pokemon Go.

We told you here that another Gen 2 update was coming soon, but we doubt it will be today so soon after the last update. You can keep track of Pokemon Go server status here, but we’ll let you know once you can get in.

To help us, please confirm that Pokemon Go is down in your area by leaving a comment below.
