PlayStation Plus update for October adds great games

It’s still a great time to be a PlayStation Plus member and Sony is giving you even more reasons to subscribe in October if you have yet to. We now have confirmation of the games that will be added to the Instant Game Collection, as part of the PlayStation Plus October update – and there’s some great titles to choose from.

It’s hard to believe that so many games are available for free each month. If you are a gamer who burns through games the second they are out, it really should be a no-brainer to subscribe to the service.

After previously offering stellar titles such as Battlefield 3 for free, we can now reveal that next month’s big game is going to be Far Cry 3. Don’t forget that this is a game that only hit the shelves a year ago, so it is by no means an outdated game.

Best of all, Far Cry 3 should be available to download right now, as of September 25 so head to the EU store now to see if the changes have been reflected. Aside from Far Cry 3, you’ll also be able to get Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen and Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams for free as well.

Sony hasn’t left out PS Vita users either, as there is a big game on offer for fighting fans – none other than Capcom’s Street Fighter X Tekken. The crossover brawler will be free to download for a month, and will also be joined by Touch my Katamari for those that want a break from the norm.

It means that October is another great month for PS Plus users and Sony yet again are showing no signs of giving a reason for users to cancel their subscriptions. The October update for US subscribers has yet to be released, but it will be interesting to see if Far Cry 3 is the main game.
