Plants vs Zombies 2 release date arrives in China

We reported yesterday that Plants vs Zombies 2 for Android could be heading to China this month, and we even called out the date of September 12, and we can now tell you that it has finally happened.

Seeing Plants vs Zombies 2 for Android released today, Sept 12 is such a big deal for Android users because it is a clear sign the gaming app will follow shortly in other parts of the world — well that’s the hope.

Even though the game has only been released in China on Android for now, you can bet some people have been already playing the app for hours. However, it’s not an easy task as just going on to the Google Play Store in China, because they do not have one. Instead they have to use Baidu’s AppSearch Android market.

The Plants vs Zombies 2 for Android release in the US, UK and other parts of the world (apart from China) is still not known to us, but surely it will be within the next few days or a week at most? However, there is still a way for all of us to download it now, but this does come with risks.

You can use Baidu’s AppSearch along with and APK, but you might want to play it offline because there will be the capability of in-app purchases, and this could become an issue when using an app from China. More details on this can be found on the Android Community.

iOS users have been enjoying Plants vs Zombies 2 for a while now, and we can be sure some of them have been digging at their friends on Android. However, please do not be tempted to try and download the app early, because it is far safer just to wait it out, and we do believe it will not be such a long wait.
