Pharos have recently unveiled a new handset, this handset is a rugged handset which runs Windows Mobile 6.5, one drawback however is that it is pretty ugly.
The WinMo 6.5 powered handset features a 3.5-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a 624MHz processor, 256MB of RAM and a 512MB ROM. Other mentionable features include a microSD memory card slot, and WiFi/GPS/Bluetooth connectivity.
The handset’s dimensions are 5.7 x 3.1 x 1 (inches), and the handset also features a 1880mAh battery, one of the real selling points of this handset is that it’s GPS receiver is ‘ultra sensitive’.
As for it’s ruggedness the handset can withstand drops from 4-5 feet, other details are scarce however the handset is “compliant with the International Protection Rating (IP54) standard”.
