We have been alerted to the fact that PSN is down suddenly on December 12 with sign-in problems, at one of the worst possible times in the day – especially for Europe and UK gamers.
Unfortunately, we are yet again in a situation where we are seeing potential attack threats being made by the group known as Phantom Squad, the same group which has targeted companies such as EA and Valve in the past.
First of all, here’s confirmation that there are definitely problems with PSN right now:
Now take a look at the Tweets left by the group just minutes ago.
It’s worth mentioning that 2K servers also went offline earlier on in the day for NBA 2K17 so either it is just a very strange coincidence or the group really have managed to take servers down for both services.
We can’t say for sure whether this is the case, but obviously we know a lot of gamers are not happy right now and want to know why PSN servers are down on December 12.
Can you connect to any PS4 or PS3 games online right now? Give us your thoughts below and keep checking PSN status for updates.
