PC Skyrim 1.3 patch notes available, Xbox 360 / PS3 updates coming soon

We told you earlier on this week that Bethesda was preparing patch update 1.3 for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and now we’re pleased to say that the update is now available to download for PC users. We have a full list of changes for those of you who are interested to know what has been fixed up in the latest update.

Let’s get the important information out of the way first though, as just like we told you here, patch 1.3 will not solve the ongoing lag and framerate problems that is affecting those of you with the PS3 version of the game.

Bethesda has released the update for PC users first, but have also confirmed on their official blog that the same update has also been sent to Sony and Microsoft for certification, meaning that it should be available to download on console very soon, hopefully by the end of the week.

The good news though, is that the PC update now gives us a chance to see an official change log, which will apply to the console versions as well. Bethesda has said that there are general stability improvements in patch 1.3, while some of you may be pleased to hear that the patch also notes that a fix has been put in place to calculate magic resistances properly.

Also detailed in the patch notes is a ‘dragon animation fix’ which will probably stop the beasts flying backwards in-game as we know a lot of you have been reporting this issue to Bethesda. There’s no word on whether patch 1.3 will fix up certain quests in the game that some players are having trouble completing, but the patch notes does contain a fix for the ‘Radiant Story incorrectly filling certain roles’, so perhaps this is related.

Below is a complete list of the patch notes, as taken from Bethesda’s blog. Let us know how the stable the PC version is after updating, and if you feel there’s a problem that they have not included in this update. We’ll let you know when this update reaches the PS3 and Xbox 360.

    Patch 1.3 official notes:

General stability improvements
Optimize performance for Core 2 Duo CPUs (PC)
Fixed Radiant Story incorrectly filling certain roles
Fixed magic resistances not calculating properly
Fixed issue with placing books on bookshelves inside player purchased homes
Fixed dragon animation issues with saving and loading
Fixed Y-look input to scale correctly with framerate
