Pause PS4 downloads workaround until 1.53 update

Since the launch of the PS4 there has been a few problems, some of which have already been resolved thanks to new updates. However, one issue has yet to be fixed, and that is not being able to pause during PlayStation 4 downloads. This problem is not expected to be fixed until PS4 update 1.53, as yet we do not know when the new firmware will go live.

Thankfully, there has been a workaround for this for a while now, so we thought we would refresh your memory, although some PS4 owners never knew that there was a temporary fix for this download standby/pause issue.

Not being able to queue or pause downloads is a huge issue for some PlayStation 4 owners, and as a result there are some cases where a huge number of files have to be downloaded at once. This is fine if you have a fast Internet connection, but not if you have a slow broadband speed, or even if you have an issue that causes your Internet to go down.

In the video below you will see just how easy it is to get around this problem, and we are told that in most cases this provisional fix works 8 out of 10 times.

Going back to the PlayStation 4 update 1.53, if we were to go on past firmware updates, then it should go live anytime now.
