Paris Motor Show 2010: Lamborghini Murciélago concept preview

With the Paris Motor Show 2010 set for 2nd – 17th October, Lamborghini has decided to give us a sneaky preview of its latest Murciélago concept. With an official launch booked for 30th September this year, any images are welcome to wet our appetites.

A report from Autocar states that the new car will be smothered in carbon fibre, using the popular woven material on its bodywork and chassis. This will aid Lamborghini in dramatically reducing the weight of its supercars, and accompany the exotic manufacturers plans to cut emissions throughout its range. A target weight for the new model will be less than 1500kg.

Along with the carbon composite chassis the new Murciélago will boast an all new 7.0-litre V12 powerplant capable of creating between 700-720 horsepower. With this sort of power the firm aims to produce a 0-100mph time of around 6.0 seconds and give an impressive 0-62mph time of near to 3.0 seconds. However Lamborghini have also said that the use of a DSG gearbox wont be an option due to its complexity and expense of engineering.
