Panasonic TC-50A400U 50-inch TV specs review

The Panasonic TC-50A400U may not be the latest TV to consider as a gift for yourself or a loved one at this time of year, but if you are not looking for a TV with state-of-the art technology because that is too much of a premium to pay, then this model could be perfect for you. This slim edge-lit LED delivers superb brightness and clarity along with vivid colors. However, it is those black level that will appeal to you the most, making it perfect for watching dark scene movies or playing video games.

This Panasonic 50″ Class LED, 1080p, 60Hz HDTV with its Full HD clarity also makes it great for sports, although we do worry that refresh rate is not enough for more fast action sports. However, we can tell you that when it comes to viewing your saved photos they will look stunning.

Main specs – 44-1/2-inch screen, 1080p, 60Hz refresh rate, 1920 x 1080 resolution, V-Chip, Simulated Surround and Sound Leveler.

Connections and measurements – 2 HDMI inputs, USB, DVI, Component Video, Composite, although it does lack Ethernet. As for those dimensions, they are 27.5 inches high with stand, almost 11 inches deep with stand, and without those measurements are 25-3/4″ and 2-1/8.

With this being a slightly older model we came across a few reviews from our readers and they do seem rather impressed on the whole. One reader said, “Easy to setup along with great picture and sound.” Another said, “While the picture is great, the sound does take some getting used to.”

It is for this reason why we would recommend the use of a soundbar to help bring the sound to life, such as the Auvio SBT32210.
