Not one to feel left out; Panasonic has also announced a new camera today, the G7. This compact camera is the latest model to benefit from the ultra-high definition feature that has been passed down from the Lumix GH4. This latest model is the update to the 2013 G6, and so let’s take a closer look at what to expect.
Panasonic Lumix G7 attributes — the first thing you will notice about its design is the large grip popping out from the side, which is said to make it far more comfortable to hold. There is also am OLED viewfinder, but for those that prefer to see the bigger picture, there is also the 3-inch vari-angle LCD screen.
The specs are rather impressive for a camera of this size and budget, but we expect nothing less from Panasonic. You get a 16-megapixel sensor and you can also make use of a cool feature that offers 8-megapixel of movie footage to be turned into images. Talking of video, you can shoot movies in 4K, with a resolution of 3840 x 2160.
If you want to decrease the quality for storage purposes or other reasons, then you can do so to Full HD at a resolution of 1920 x 1080. For those of you that will be using this camera more for taking videos, then the 3.5mm microphone socket could certainly come in handy. Full specs can be found on the Panasonic website, and you can also watch the introduction video below.
As for the Panasonic G7 price and availability, this will be £599 for the body only, £679 if going for the 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 lens kit option or £849 if you opt for the 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens instead. As for its release date, this will in mid June.
