Earlier this month we took a sneak peek at the new Panasonic GX7, which was the latest camera to enter the mirrorless market. Now that people have spent some time with it we wondered what their thoughts were, and so we have an enlightening Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 review video that looks for substance within the camera.
The start of the video review begins on a positive note, suggesting the GX7 is possibly the best looking camera of the year, although that is personal preference. We can understand their way of thinking when it is explained that Panasonic cameras are usually bland looking, so the GX7 is a huge statement from the company.
The design is a bit like a phone, in the way that it makes the square edges look nice, which gives the camera a retro finish, although the silver and black colors help with that. You will notice in the video review how much the reviewer compares the GX7 to Fuji models.
He loves the grip because it feels nice in the hand, but it is at 1:43 that made us laugh, just listen and you will know just what we mean. We do love how a lot of attention is taken with the design of the exterior, but we know the internals are more important.
Details of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 begins at around 3:20 because it is then the reviewer gets more excited, but he makes a clear point that while he has looked for substance, it has none. The reason for this is because he cannot find any unique features, as a lot of the technology has been borrowed from other companies, such as Canon, Olympus and others.
Do you believe the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 is a stand out camera, or is it too much like the competition?
