Panasonic Lumix: 13.2MP phone to be announced next week.

Panasonic have announced in Japan that they will showcase a new cell phone next week at the CEATEC exhibition. The new Lumix device features a camera with a 13.2MP CMOS sensor.

Serkan Toto of MobileCrunch is reporting that the company has put up a teaser site for the new handset, but no pictures are available. Lumix is normally associated with Panasonic’s cameras so the handset will probably have a good shooter bundled with it.

Some details have been revealed such as the screen which is a 3.3-inch LCD with 854×480 resolution. Other features include; micro SDHC slot, Wi-Fi, “Mobile VenusEngine” for HD images, DLNA support, and measurements of 116x52x17.7mm with a weight of 146g.

The full details are set to be announced on the first day of CEATEC on October 5. It is not known if the device will be available outside of Japan.
