Panasonic AG-AF100: Micro Four Thirds pro camcorder details

When it comes to camcorder design Panasonic has played it safe for some time now, not so with the new AG-AF100 Micro Four Thirds pro video camera. Panasonic has used mirrorless capturing, but managed to incorporate an SLR-sized sensor to film video at 1080p30 video.

That is not the best thing with this technology, the AG-AF100 Micro Four Thirds pro can offer the same depth of field as a standard wide angled 35mm camera — but much smaller than most digital cameras on the market.

Those interested in making movies will still be able to change lenses, Panasonic has also made it possible for you to use lenses from Leica, Canon and Nikon by using adapters.

There are no details on price as of yet or a release date, but according to Electonista it will be by the end of 2010. However, we assume that the price will be kept low as the device is aimed at independent filmmakers.
