Ortus Full HD 4.8″ LCD Display Upgrade: 3D Upgrade without glasses

Recently we have provided you with news of huge 3D displays and new high resolution panels from the likes of Bang & Olufsen and LG. Hoping to steal the fire from these stunning visuals however is Ortus technologies with their Full HD 4.8” LCD display.

Though it may not sound that impressive the company’s screen has just been given an upgrade that will give the display 3D technology, making it the world’s smallest glasses free 3D display. The 4.8” masterpiece packs a resolution of 1920 x 1080 as it is.

Some of this wonder however stands to be sacrificed for the price of its 3D viewing. This is because the Arisawa Xpol polarizer film that it uses splits the screen into right eye and left eye pictures, giving up vertical resolution.

Despite the loss you still get a 1920 x 540 resolution, 72% NTSC color gamut, a 160 degree viewing angle and a 16.8m color display. You can read more about the Ortus display at Electronista where you will also find a video of it.
