Optimizing Windows 7 Netbooks: Seven Steps

There is no denying how popular netbooks have been since their release in 2007 most came with Windows XP installed but the new models are now benefiting from the latest Operating System from Microsoft, Windows 7. However, the new OS will not allow users to get the most from their small portable computers.

There are a number of things that you as the user can do to help optimize Windows 7; Ars Technica explains it in seven easy steps to help maximize the performance of the latest OS. The first and most important step is to make certain that you have all the latest drivers installed.

The next step on the list is to install some power management software; the third is to turn off the Areo feature in Windows. The fourth step is to install the Google Chrome browser, this is considered much faster and safer than IE. The fifth step is to turn off startup processes and services; the sixth step is to think about hardware upgrades, such as extra RAM or an SSD instead of the standard hard disk drive.

The final step is to remove any trial software that the vendors pre-installed on your netbook. For more details on these seven easy steps visit
