Opera Mini download resume for Android

There seems to be a great deal of confusion because while the Opera Mini app for Android is superb for browsing, it does not seem to support download resume. However, we have learned from other sources that there is a workaround to this.

To add more confusion, Opera Mini browser users on Android state that the latest version of this app in no way supports pause and resume, so which is it?

A user on a forum says that because of the amount of times a download fails and not wishing to restart the app, he has come up with a way to resume the download. If your download fails go to your memory card, which is where Opera saves your downloads, find the item and change its name by changing the first letter to A or B.

Once you have done this, then go back to the Opera Mini app and restart the download. If this does not work, there is another way, which you can see here, as it gives you a number of examples to change the file name to.

We have yet to hear of anyone confirming if this works or not, but considering Android users have yet to go to Google Play and say they have managed to resume failed downloads, it doesn’t look promising.
