Olympic Curling App For Apple iPhone

With the 2010 Winter Olympics now over fans of curling with an iPhone or iPod Touch can enjoy the game on their device. iCurl 1.0.1 is a 1 or 2 player game that continues the excitement of curling after the games have finished.

Released by MaxNick, the game mirrors many aspects of the sport with the aid of the iPhone OS. Curling is similar to shuffleboard but on ice. Competitors slide stones towards bull’s eye targets at either end of the playing field which measures roughly 15×150 feet. As the stones which weigh about 40 pounds slide across the ice, players use brooms to sweep the ice in front of the moving stones.

The game allows the player to control the stones where turn is the rotation of the stone, the weight is the velocity, and the line is the direction of the stone. The game allows for the player to control all three of these independently, and sweep the ice to adjust trajectory after the delivery of the stone.

iCurling 1.0.1 is on the App Store for only $0.99. iPhone/iPod Touch required with OS 3.1 or later.
