O2 suffers outage in parts of London and Essex

Last month we told you about the O2 network going down in parts of the south east, which was later put down to acts of vandalism and theft. Today news reaches us that O2 suffers outage in parts of London and Essex.

Kate Solomon of TechRadar is reporting that customers started to report problems of low signal strength or none at all. The O2 official status checker is now reporting the problem, and users may be experiencing problems making calls or using data. The company has promised engineers are working to fix the problem.

O2 have yet to say what the latest problems have been caused by, but will be of some embarrassment to the company coming so soon after the last problems. Some of our readers have suggested that the problem can be addressed by switching off the 3G on their handsets. This might be enough for making calls from the handset.

Have you been affected by the problems currently faced by the O2 network? If you are tell us what area you are from.
