Nvidia Shield UK release confirmed

For those of you holding out for a Nvidia Shield UK release, you are in luck as it has been confirmed. The handheld games console will definitely be coming oversees, but the big question of when still remains.

Nvidia confirmed the good news to Tech Radar, but was unwilling to shed any light on a potential release date. Nvidia’s director of corporate communications, Luciano Alibrandi announced that “it will come, its just a question of when.” This bittersweet news is slightly frustrating given that UK gamers have already been waiting a while for the Shield.

Since launch in the US several months back the device has been largely popular with Geforce users, although Nvidia again remained quiet on how many Shields had been sold so far. The gamestream service which allows gamers to stream the most popular games from their PC to Nvidia Shield handheld has been a huge fan favorite feature thus far.

The lack of transparency from Nvidia may drive UK gamers to opt for an alternative device if an official release announcement is not made soon. It is great that the Nvidia Shield is coming to the UK, but we have been left badly hanging by absolutely no indication of when.

Will you patiently wait for the Nvidia Shield or will you go for a different handheld console on the market instead?
