Now TV refund after Manchester City vs. West Ham issues

Now TV will refund customers after compensation was demanded thanks to problems with the Manchester City vs. West Ham stream this weekend. Viewers paid just under £10 to watch the Premier League football match and some would have also paid for the little box as well, which streams on demand entertainment including games from Sky Television, 4oD, and BBC iPlayer.

Thousands took to social channels like Twitter and Facebook to complain after glitches with Now TV video during a critical moment. Using Pay-as-you-go services over the Internet can be problematic at times, but when football fans pay for a service like watching the Premier League on Now TV, it should deliver without fault.

Now TV were quick to act, and will be delivering refunds to those that had problems during the West Ham vs. Manchester City game. Those behind the streaming video service explained that not all customers had issues, so the refunds won’t need to be for all customers. The problems during this Premier League title match were apparently due to demand being too high, although this would only mean things weren’t planned correctly ahead of time.

Tweets included, “Now TV is a joke, I want a refund after being let down right when it counts”. Another added, “How did Sky and Now TV plan this so bad? A key football day, and the problem is blamed on weight of demand”.

Did you have problems watching the Manchester City vs. West Ham game this weekend for the 2014 Premier League Title? Now TV officials explained users won’t need to do anything to get their refund, and they will be contacting sports pass customers to provide a replacement pass or refund.

Some customers look at their Now TV box hardware and feel confident like with the Sky TV hardware, but considering the way broadband connections are needed for streaming Now TV content, problems can certainly happen and there might be some limitations to service not seen with satellite signals.
