Been having problems with your Nook Color? Wish browsing was a little easier? Now it can be with the firmware update v1.1. This update, provided by Barnes & Noble, is meant to improve a number of different things, from fixing generic bugs to being able to pinch and zoom. The update should come automatically if you are connected to Wi-Fi, otherwise you can download it manually over on their website by clicking here.
Although you may be disappointed that the Nook Color update still will not offer any expansion on apps or anything in the way of a Nook app store, the download should go smoothly making your Nook Color interfacing more enjoyable. It is rumoured to have been said that Barnes & Noble will be updating the Nook OS to Android 2.2 later this year, however no date has been confirmed as of yet. Some Nook users have installed a custom firmware, which has allowed them to turn the Nook Color into something much more, this would include installing Android apps from the Android Marketplace. If you are one such user, then you should know installing the latest official firmware (v1.1) would overwrite your custom installation. Have you added a custom firmware?
