Nokia have officially announced its X5 square slider, this is a follow up to the Twist and has the same form factor as the Motorola Flipout and Kin One. We would really like to know what is so special about this current design- something that Nilay Patel from Engadget is also intrigued about.
This is now the second version of the X5; the previous was a Japanese only version — unlike this one for Singapore. We are not certain as to what specs will be packed inside the Nokia X5, but we do not expect too much as it looks like a handset designed for fun.
However, Engadget has learned that the X5 will come with a 5-megapixel camera and will run on Symbian S60. Just like the two Microsoft Kin devices the X5 will be aimed at the social media market, thanks to its Facebook, MySpace and YouTube features.
There will be a choice of colors, black, bright blue, hot pink and yellow. Unlike the new slim looking iPhone 4 the Nokia X5 is a bit on the thick side — we fear that this could go against it. For more photos and a video visit Engadget via the link in the first paragraph.
