We don’t tend to get a lot of them, so we feel quite privileged to get a video demo from Nokia Conversations showing off the new UI and features of the Symbian^3 OS, but as impressed as we want to be, we feel as though it’s not quite there yet.
It is not a huge surprise though, as the Symbian guys have stated in the past that we will have to wait until Symbian^4 for any major improvements.
Back to the main focus, the Symbian^3 OS does not look as bad as we are making out, and instead of some major rehaul we can see some clear and evolutionary tweaks to the system.
Watch the video below, and make your own mind up about the OS which features a guide through the UI, messaging application, browser and maps. The OS also does not seem as laggy as previous versions (and that was a huge hindrance to many), so the future looks bright for Symbian and the Nokia N8.
What are your impressions so far? Remember to come back for Part 2 and 3 when they are released next week,
