No Transformer Prime release delay says ASUS, still on course for 19th

We are now well into the busy Christmas shopping season where consumers despite the current financial climate are looking to purchase new tech. Whether it is for them or for a gift, anything new coming to the market around this time can see high demand. This certainly can be said by the new tablet PC from ASUS that is in the pipeline. Yesterday we had reports claiming that Wi-Fi problems had caused the device to see its launch to be put back. Now we can tell you that there will be no Transformer Prime delay according to ASUS, and it’s still on course for the 19th of this month.

The rumors of a delay came about after online retailer NCIX had sold out of the device for pre-orders, and rumors of emails sent out to customers suggested that Wi-Fi issues were the cause for any delay getting the device out on time. Now the guys over at SlashGear have reached out to ASUS to comment on the issue.

ASUS replied that they were trying to find out the source of the Wi-Fi claims, but confirmed the Transformer Prime is still on course to begin shipping just over a week away on December 19th. The source from ASUS promised to provide an update once additional information had been obtained about the Wi-Fi rumors.

There could still be more twists to come regarding the release of the device, but it is looking a good bet the new tablet PC from ASUS will be releasing just in time for Christmas. The team at SlashGear has managed to get some time with the Transformer Prime, and at no time did they experience any problems with the Wi-Fi.
