No iOS 5 download and iPhone 5: Consumer disappointment

The main keynote speech for this year’s WWDC event is officially over, and although we received some most welcome information regarding iOS 5 and Mac OS X Lion, we can’t help but feel a little bit disappointed that Apple didn’t deliver further.

By this we’re obviously talking about the fact that we didn’t see Steve Jobs unveil a new iPhone 5 device on stage. Before you go out and say it, we’re obviously aware that it was heavily speculated that there wouldn’t be an iPhone 5 at the event, but we still clinged on to the hope of one big surprise, as we’ve seemingly forgotten what it feels like to have a ‘genuine’ WWDC surprise after previous leaks.

Another disappointing factor of WWDC 2011, was although Apple unveiled iOS 5 and it’s impressive looking features to the world, it’s slightly frustrating that users have to wait so long for the download. The new software will be released sometime in Fall, so just after Summer and another iritating fact is that developers get to sample iOS 5 right now as long as they have a developer account with Apple.

We would have loved it if Apple blew everyone away by saying ‘and iOS 5 will be available..from DAY ONE’, but sadly it wasn’t to be this time. Let us know your thoughts on this. How did WWDC pan out for you – are you disappointed too about no iPhone 5 and no iOS 5 download?
