Nintendo’s Impressive Wii / DS Sales During Holiday Sales

Nintendo has recently revealed impressive US sales figures during the week ending November 27th 2010, in total they say that they shifted 1.5 million hardware units made up of DS and Wii sales.

According to estimates 900,000 DS units and 600,000 Wiis were sold during this period in the US, it is thought that these figures were helped by the launch of several bundles.

These figures are extremely impressive when you take into account how long these devices have been out, the Wii was released back in late 2006 and the DS was released in late 2004, obviously there are now a few different DS variants, but to see that the DS family as a whole is still doing well is great news for Nintendo.

There are rumors suggesting that the Nintendo Wii 2 will be revealed at E3 2011, and we already know that the Nintendo 3DS launch is scheduled for a Q1 2011 release, therefore it will be interesting to see what the next year holds for Nintendo.

Will you buy the Nintendo 3DS or the Nintendo Wii 2 if they are both released in 2011?
