Nintendo launching 3DS and DSi XL bundles in time for Xmas

A smart way to boost sales of consoles, which manufacturers seem to take advantage of a lot more these days, is to launch a bundle, themed or different colored unit. Last month we brought you news of an ‘ice white’ Nintendo 3DS being launched exclusively in Japan and now it appears to be making its European debut along with a ‘coral pink’ version as well as two DSi XL bundles being launched, just in time for Xmas.

The Japan based company is the main manufacturer when it comes to marketing. They have continually managed to develop and sell consoles despite them having arguably inferior technology. A reason for this is down to their reputation as well as their appeal to a broad audience. Their games are also more fun based as opposed to being graphics and story driven, making them more appealing to the casual gamer.

Recently Nintendo announced a blue Wii console bundle featuring the Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games game that is to be launched to commemorate the 2012 Olympic Games being held in London next year. They also launched a red 3DS in Europe to celebrate reaching the one million mark across the continent. A ‘misty pink’ 3DS was also launched as the company’s way of attracting more female customers. Last week limited edition Mario themed 3DS units were launched also exclusively in Japan.

The two new colors will launch across Europe on November 18th making them the perfect gift for gamers who prefer to be different. Each will come in a bundle with a game; the ice white handheld will come with Super Mario Land 3D and the coral pink version will come with a copy of Nintendogs + Cats. According to CVG the consoles can also be bought separately in December. As for the DSi XL bundles, one is aimed at boys and the other at girls. The only difference between the two is the color, one is blue and the other is pink, both will feature the Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem game and both will cost $169.99. They are expected to be available on November 6th.

Will you be getting any of these new colored devices?
