The launch of Nintendo’s latest device the 3DS was hotly anticipated and when it finally released initial sales were exactly what the company could have hoped for. However some people were unable to afford the 3D experience so opt for the predecessor Nintendo DS Lite, a 2D equivalent.
Today we have great news for those that do not own either device as the DS Lite, which is still having great success sales wise, has just been given a price cut. The originally priced $129.99 device shifted 17.52 million units and nearly 121 million games.
The company is looking to increase the number of units sold with the cost cut which bring s the asking price down to just $99.99. The price reduction comes not long after the Wii became discounted by the company in a bid to increase sales there. The Wii is now just $149.99.
Both these cuts have the same agenda, to increase sales but for different reasons. Check out the article over at Slashgear for more details about the price cut where you will also find a full press release.
Do you think the DS Lite’s new price tag is enough to make you want to buy one?
