Nintendo 3DS Accessories: Nyko Power Pak+ Battery Charger

If you have already managed to get your hands on a Nintendo 3DS from Japan, then you’ll probably be aware that the overall battery life isn’t too great on the glasses-free 3D handheld. Luckily for you, accessory makers Nyko has come to your rescue.

They have designed a battery charger for the device, which they are calling the Power Pak+. The Nintendo 3DS currently offers around three hours of battery life, disappointing we know, but Nyko’s Power Pak+ apparently will double that, offering a much more solid 6 hours of gaming use.

Aside from the extra three hours it offers, the best thing about the Power Pak+ is the price, as Nyko will be selling it for a very reasonable $20, as reported from Joystiq. The only downside to picking one of these up, is the considerable amount of bulk you’ll add to the system as it attaches to the back.

If you want to make full use of the Power Pak+, Nyko also have another option for you, a accompanying charge cradle for the pack which can replace the current 3DS charging station. Nyko will be selling this for $30 which again, isn’t a bad deal.

What are your thoughts on these products? If you’re constantly getting frustrated about the minimal battery life on the 3DS, it’s worth spending $20 to try one of these out – you probably won’t regret it. Both are available to buy now.
