When the new Nikon DF DSLR camera was announced there was great expectations for this camera and as such we would have assumed pre-order numbers to be impressive. However, this is not the case and from what we have been hearing, demand for the D800 when that was first announced was far greater. Maybe this is because the DF has nothing groundbreaking, whereas the D800 did at launch?
This is not the news that Nikon would have wanted to hear, and while we cannot rely on these early Nikon DF pre-order sales, there has to be some truth to them. According to Nikon Rumors the DF does not even feature in the top 20 list for the best selling cameras on Amazon.
We are rather perplexed by this because you would have assumed the Nikon DF would have featured high up in the top 20 seeing as though it is a new camera that photographers have been waiting for.
However, there are two things going against the new camera from Nikon, the first is its ridiculous price, and the other is the lack of reviews.
It seems that consumers would love to see a review of the Nikon DF, just to see how its specs and features compare to the competition. Only that way they will be able to tell if Nikon can justify the price.
