Nikon D810 vs. Sony A7s 1080p video test

With the Nikon D810 starting to ship within the next few days (although some people have received theirs early) we thought you might like to see how this latest DSLR compares to another competent camera. The Sony A7s is just that camera, although to see how it compares to the new model from Nikon, we have located a video for your viewing enjoyment.

Nikon D810 vs. Sony A7s 1080p video test parameters — In this test it is not for 4K but 1080p, with a Nikkor 70-200 MM 2.8G VR lens used on the Nikon and a Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G SSM II on the A7s.

The picture style for this test is set on standard for both cameras, and both have been the same ISO aperture shutter speed video settings, which makes it as much as an equal test as can be between two DSLRs.

We are treated to a number of test videos within the one video under different environments to give you an overall idea of how they perform. What we have noticed is that while the Nikon D810 produces more detailed footage, the Sony A7s is a bit more darker, which comes n handy during certain circumstances.

If you want to see how these two cameras compare in terms of specs, then you can do so here. We also have details of how the D810 compares to the D800 and the 5D Mark III.
