Nikon D7100 vs. D5200, comparative review debatable

The Nikon D7100 is a new intermediate camera and as you would imagine people have been comparing the new DSLR to the D7000. However, because this is an aging device it’s not a fair comparison, which is why we have seen several videos and reviews appear comparing the D5200 to the new D7100 instead.

While looking over these reviews, such as the video above we are told that the Nikon D7100 vs. D5200 is a comparative review, but when looking at the reaction this seems a little debatable to some consumers.

It’s easy to see why so many people are comparing these two cameras as they both have the same 24.1-megapixel CMOS sensor, although we have to point out that the D7100 does have the added benefit of not having an optical low-pass filter. This feature not only reduces distortions but also gives much sharper images as well.

Nikon D7100 vs. Nikon D5200, comparative review debatable

You can view over all the differences between the two cameras in the video above, but like we said some consumers feel as though this is an unfair review because these cameras cater for different markets because the D5200 is much cheaper and the fact that the D7100 has far more features.

Okay, this maybe true but when you are on a budget and still need a pretty decent camera then the D5200 might be just what you need. Then again for what you need to use your camera for there may not be the need to spend the extra for the D7100.

There’s always something else to consider, if this is your first DLSR camera, then maybe you should go with the Nikon D5200 and use the money saved to get some better lenses.
