Compact digital camera sales have fallen since the age of the smartphone, or more so when their cameras got better and social media truly took off. However, that does not mean the market is slowing down in bringing new models to the consumer.
If you are not looking for a high-end camera that can do all those weird and wonderful things, then Nikon may have you covered.
The two new models are the Nikon Coolpix A100 and A10, and while their specs will not blow you away, they are ideal for those of you that just like to take normal shots while going out for the day or on holiday.
Looking at the A100 specs we can see that it differs a lot from the lower-end model. With this model you get a 20.1-megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom, and such features as Scene Auto Selector, which makes it much easier when taking shots as all the hard work is done for you – perfect for those of you that does not understand about speed, light and color balance.
As for the A10 specs, the first thing that interests us is its uses of AA batteries, which does make it much easier if your camera runs out of power. The A10 also sports a 16.6MP sensor and the same 5x optical zoom as the model above. You also get Scene Auto Selector, Glamour Retouch and the new Creative Slider system.
Both are expected to become available for sale later this month, although Nikon has yet to reveal the price for either model.
