Nightwing confirmed as fourth playable character in Arkham City

We have been bringing our readers various articles revealing the characters that are set to appear in the highly anticipated sequel, Batman: Arkham City. We now have news which confirms the addition of yet another character, Nightwing, this time however it is a playable one which will be available courtesy of a DLC.

Until now the confirmed playable characters were known to be Batman, obviously, Robin and Catwoman. Now, since ten new exclusive DLC trophies have surfaced online it has been indicated that Nightwing will also be available once the package has been downloaded. While Batman and Catwoman will be playable during normal campaign mode, reports are suggesting that like Robin, Nightwing will only feature in challenge maps.

The character Nightwing has appeared in various forms in DC Comics and is based on a Kryptonian mythical superhero from the Superman saga. The version that is to appear in Arkham City is the Dick Grayson one. Robin’s alter-ego is said to have become Nightwing after hearing the story of the Kryptonian and retiring from being Robin, to become his own superhero rather than a sidekick.

Two of the new trophies which have surfaced are; Obtain 78 medals on the original Arkham City and Nightwing Bundle Pack ranked maps (as Nightwing) and Obtain 114 medals on the original Arkham City and Nightwing Bundle Pack campaigns (as Nightwing). They can be found over at Gameranx.

We recently brought you news of a not so secret Arkham City Xbox 360 hardware bundle which is set to coincide with the release of the game on October 18th. As well as bringing you news of the first Arkham City review for the PS3 which saw the game receive a perfect score.
