Nexus Prime incoming after iPhone 5: Two possible release dates

We have some fresh information on the Nexus Prime to bring you now, as recent reports suggest that the Nexus Prime is still on course for a release within the next few months, with one source claiming that it could come straight after the release of the iPhone 5.

Google has already said that Ice Cream Sandwich will be coming very soon and the general feeling amongst the Android community is that the Nexus Prime will be the handset that is selected to be the flagship launch device for the new software.

Now then, an email sent to Phandroid from an apparent tipster with a friend who works for Verizon has told the site that the Nexus Prime will actually be launching towards the end of November. Two dates were even mentioned as well, these are November 17th and November 24th – falling both on a Thursday just for your reference.

This is significant in the fact that it may be roughly one month after the iPhone 5 is launched towards the end of October, meaning that Google will be paying close attention to the release of the iPhone 5, although a month apart could end up being a risky move in our opinion if everyone rushes out to buy Apple’s device.

Since the Nexus Prime will be a Verizon device, there has been no details yet on whether or not it will end up being the next member of the Droid family after the recently released Droid Bionic. Nexus ‘Droid’ Prime doesn’t quite have that edge to it, so we would actually prefer it if the Nexus brand stayed separate as the Google Nexus Prime – who agrees with us about the name?

Don’t forget that this information definitely isn’t official, but it is well worth making a note of those two possible release dates in case they are mentioned again down the line as we attempt to piece the puzzle together on the Nexus Prime.

Have you already decided to get this handset, or are you waiting for the iPhone 5 announcement still?
