Nexus 9 event Vs Apple event on October 16

Just hours ago, we learned that Apple will be holding a iPad Air 2 event on October 16, after invites were sent out as expected. Now in a big surprise, or not, it looks like Google may be planning to hold their Android L event and Nexus 9 unveil on the exact same day.

What an occasion that would be for tech fans around the world if that’s the case. Now it is looking like it is definitely going to happen with Google going head-to-head with Apple in a tablet showdown.

Not only tablets though, but also with the expected reveal of Android L and possibly a new Nexus 6 smartphone as well. The Google event on October 16 rumors are coming directly after a confirmation from an HTC exec in Asia that they are officially building Google’s next tablet device after Asus.

There will definitely be some skeptics of course, firmly out to see if HTC can improve on the infamous HTC Flyer tablet that was discontinued after less than 12 months on sale.

Then again, they will have the might of the Nexus brand behind them this time and after the nightmares regarding the elusive Nexus 10 2014 tablet that never materialised, consumers will jump at the chance to buy any new Nexus tablet that hits the shelves.

Is Apple’s iPad Air 2 more desirable for you though personally? The rumors suggest that we’ll see an upgraded tablet with Touch ID support, the A8 processor, a gold color option and possibly an enhanced camera as well.

Either way, we think we may see a confirmation from Google before the end of the week, that the October 16 event is definitely happening. Where is your money going to go? On a brand new Nexus 9 tablet built by HTC or a shiny new iPad Air 2 from Apple?
