Nexus 7 tablet with Ubuntu Touch and problems

If you are not a developer, then it would be rather pointless trying to install Ubuntu Touch on a Nexus 7 tablet, although enthusiasts can also give this a go. The reason for this is because you will need to wipe your device clean; so most users will not want to entertain such an idea. If there were something worth keeping on your tablet then we would advise you to give this a miss.

Once you are certain this is what you want then the next step is how to install Ubuntu Touch on Nexus 7. You are first advised to have the correct default Android image at hand, and then back up those photos, documents and so forth that you wish to keep.

There are several other steps as well, which have been explained in this article, or if you would rather watch a video of this then you can do so below, as this is often far easier to follow than reading through a step-by-step process.

As always there are always a few issues when doing things like this, so we expect that there will be several Nexus 7 Ubuntu Touch problems. Upon digging around we have learned from one user who had tried to install Ubuntu on their Nexus 7 after following the usual procedure. However, for some reason their tablet is not being detected by fastboot any longer.

They were told it could be driver related, but they believe they have all the correct drivers. Having already tried to install with windows as well, the Nexus 7 was still not recognized. All the person affected by this issue can do is stay in bootloader, which you can read more about here. So what can they do to resolve this issue?

This is just one issue with the Ubuntu Touch for the Nexus 7, and we’d love to know if you have suffered the same problem, or even another that you would like to share with our readers?
