Nexus 7 or 8 expected this month

It was just last week when we offered an update on the Nexus tablet release saga for 2014, as we find it strange how Google has stayed rather quiet on what they have planned. However, what we do find interesting is the fact that there is still hope for either a Nexus 7 or 8 to be revealed this month.

The 2013 Edition of the Nexus 7 was released on July 26th last year, although it had to be brought forward due to a few retailers shipping them early. Now we know that Google and ASUS could do away with the 7-inch tablet this year in favor of the 8-inch model, but it still gives us hope of the Nexus 8 this month. We are not sure what ASUS plans to do, as it is rumored that HTC will manufacturer the 8-inch model.

It is rather strange how there have been no leaks for the Nexus 8 for a while, and nothing at all for a 2014 Nexus 7, but maybe Google has decided to take the Apple approach.

Having said that, we do get an idea of what an Nexus 8 running Android L would look like thanks to a new concept video. We know that Nexus is not going anywhere, and so the likelihood of an 8-inch Nexus tablet is highly likely.

If not this month, then when? Even though it is a nice thought to see the release of the Nexus 8 this month, it will probably not happen. One would presume the 8-inch model would be released at the same time as Android L, which we suspect will be from the fall, with October or November being the most likely.
