If you are a current owner of the Nexus 7 tablet and are patiently awaiting details on the new 2013 Nexus 7 ‘2’ update, we have one almighty rumor to share with you now. Pictures of the upcoming, but unannounced device have found their way online, confirming to us some very early specifications and confirmation that Google will finally be giving consumers a rear camera to play around with.
It’s no secret that the Nexus 7 turned out to be a hugely popular device, no doubt thanks to Google’s excellent price tag, whilst at the same time offering consumers hardware specs that were still top notch at the time. We haven’t heard too much about a possible successor, until now that is thanks to Android Central.
They have managed to obtain photo and video evidence of an apparent early prototype, which to us looks like there’s little chance of this being fake. Aside from a 5 megapixel rear camera as mentioned above, we also hear how Google has plans to introduce a dual-speaker system on the next Nexus 7 as well – excellent news.
They add that the new Nexus 7 coming in 2013 should also come in two configurations as well, giving consumers the option of picking up a 16GB or a 32GB model. Further good news lies in the fact that they have pinpointed a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro being used as the main processor as well, which you should know is a very capable processor indeed as seen with various smartphones on the market right now.
Remember, Google has yet to officially announce a Nexus 7 successor, so it could still be some time until we see this thing on the shelves. Adding a rear 5 megapixel camera and dual speakers though should make the upgrade very worthwhile. Head to the link above to see photo and video evidence.
