We told you that the Nexus 7 2012 tablet would be getting a surprise update to the latest version of Android, that being Android 5.0 Lollipop of course. Now, we could have even better news with rumors that Google will be launching their Nexus 7 Android 5.0 Lollipop release date sooner than expected.
We had a feeling that Google would give the Android 5.0 update for the Nexus 5 as a first priority, but according to the latest whispers it appears that tablet owners will be first in line.
Details uncovered courtesy of Android Police suggest that the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 Android 5.0 Lollipop release date could be on November 3. This relates to the WiFi models of the tablets in question and the update will reportedly be available via an OTA update.
Google obviously hasn’t confirmed it themselves yet, but this is the first time in which we’ve seen an actual date attached to the Android 5.0 rollout for devices other than the Nexus 6 – which will ship with the new software on board.
The same rumor also suggests that after the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 WiFi rollout, Android 5.0 Lollipop will then become available for the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 smartphones as well as the Nexus 7 LTE model.
How excited are you about Lollipop coming to your tablet? Let us know if you already think it is looking better than iOS 8.
