When LG finally decides to release the Nexus 5 they need to learn from the mistakes made with the Nexus 4 and the constant stock issues. Over the past few months the forecast for consumers to get their hands on these Android devices were slim to none, and we’re certain that this could have an effect on your decision when buying the next-gen nexus handset.
The Nexus 4 is a great device because of its stock Android OS and hardware to match, it’s just a shame that it’s let down by logistics, although T-Mobile has helped the situation by making more Nexus 4 handsets available. We had assumed that we had learned the truth in regards to those stock issues, but it seems as though it is not as clear-cut as that because LG are now blaming Google, but Google are blaming LG.
This is the issue when it comes to the Nexus range of devices, because we know that Google and Samsung have been passing the buck when it comes to who is responsible for warranty issues. Google and their partners need to get on top of this issue because it’s not a way to conduct business, especially when we know that the Nexus 5 is due to be announced.
According to a French source LG has said that Google find it difficult to estimate the demand for the Nexus 4, which then makes it more difficult for LG to send the correct quantities. This does fit in with what LG had said last week when they claimed that stock of the Nexus 4 was being sent to some locations when they didn’t even need any, meaning there would be a lack of stock in other key areas.
While it seems that this miscommunication has not affected the relationship between Google and LG, that’s more than we can say about their customers because if they have any hope of marketing the Nexus 5, then there needs to be certain guarantees made, such as no stock issues.
