Nexus 5 release date, specs from concrete leaks

This week delivered solid Nexus 5 details in regard to its release date, specs and other features thanks to some very concrete leaks landing from numerous sources painting a clear picture of what is expected in the coming days.

An article on Phone Arena explains clearly that the Nexus 5 release date could be known in 3 days time at the expected launch event, and this will be at the well-known Google boot camp.

The latest rumors point to the hardware arriving on Google play store right at the end of this month with Android 4.4 KitKat rolling out worldwide following this launch.

Google’s Nexus 5 price is expected to stay around the same as its previous generation, so this is no surprise although the finer specs will be interesting considering the popularity of this smartphone along with high demand. It seems almost inevitable that stock problems will arise if demand is strong, so get in early if the phone lands on Google play later this month.

New leaked photos reveal some of the finer Android KitKat 4.4 features thanks to this article. They show changes to the UI for a clutter free design with Google Now being more noticeable.

We published some key details for the new Nexus 10 within the last 24 hours along with Android 4.4 KitKat pictures. These revealed the darker Downloads user interface being replaced with a lighter design, and the same theme has been revealed with a Nexus 5 running the new Android 4.4 update.

You will see black bars replaced with transparent bars, some Apple users with iOS 7 might make claims here, and we love how it looks with way less clutter along with a flat design that’s colorful.

Do you like the idea of Android 4.4 KitKat aiming at a more flat design? The Nexus 5 will arrive with this colorful flat UI, so will you be purchasing on its release date expected in less than 3 weeks?

Android 4.4 KitKat will land with much more than the leaks revealed so far, although we have had a clear picture with vital improvements being shown. The latest leaks reveal new location detection settings named “battery saving”, “device sensors” and “high accuracy”. The first option uses data and Wi-Fi, the second uses a GPS sensor, and High Accuracy will take advantage of all these sources for a detailed location.

You should also expect to see more focus put on Google Wallet, which seems likely after NFC is featured more in the settings menu along with Tap and Pay.

The Nexus 5 launch date next week has received more weight from Bluetooth Certification as seen on the official website. This points to the Nexus 5 phone being listed as an LG model LG-D821.
