Nexus 5 release date, specs discussion heightens

The Nexus 5 release rumor mill has been a bumpy one, because one moment Google and LG are to partner with each other, and the next they are not, only to find that their partnership is to continue. Now that it does look as though LG will be behind the Nexus 4 successor, there are several other questions that need to be answered, such as those all-important specs, its design and when will it finally be released?

Nexus 5 design
— There has been several Nexus 5 discussions in regards to its design, and the most recent seems to suggest the new LG handset will look very similar to that of the Optimus G2, so not the flexible display that we had hoped for, although we do know that the technology is still a little behind, and so we don’t expect to see a smartphone with a flexible display until next year at the earliest.

Nexus 5 specs — As for those specs, which we have to say has been highly discussed over the months, it’s looking very likely to come with a 5.2-inch Full HD display and a 2.3GHz processor, a Snapdragon 800 to be more precise. It’s not certain if the Nexus 5 will come with 2GB or 3GB, but there’s a good chance that it will sport a 13-meagpixel camera.

If the rumored specs are true, then the Nexus 5 looks as though it will be a killer handset, and so will not only rival the next iPhone (which will be on the market by then) but also the HTC One and the Galaxy S4. However, we do hope that LG makes some vast improvements in other areas, such as the camera sensor and also their aftermarket accessories, as well as improved supply from the start.

Debatable Nexus 5 announcement
— There’s been a great deal of speculation as to when the Nexus 5 release date will be, but a recent rumor has suggested that the handset could be unveiled on October 5, 2013 and a release date to be announced at that event. While we believe that this latest smartphone will be unveiled in October, we don’t think it will be on the 5th, as this is a Saturday.
