While there have been a multitude of new smartphones released in 2013, there have only been a few that has created a huge amount of anticipation and media attention. One such handset is the Nexus 5, which for us seemed to take forever to be released, but that was only because rumors of its existence begun just a month or so after the Nexus 4 had released.
Now that the Nexus 5 is in the hands of so many people it has been interesting to see if it suffered from the same problems as its predecessor. Thankfully, we have not witnessed restraints in terms of stock and overall there does not seem to be the same issues that seem to affect so many other handsets on the market, such as the Galaxy S4 and the iPhone 5S.
Having said that, the Nexus 5 is not without its issues, and Product Reviews has learned from several readers that there are Nexus 5 MMS problems in Hangouts being experienced.
Some Nexus 5 owners have tried to send an MMS in Hangouts as well as Textra and they fail to send. Don’t worry though because there are a few solutions to resolve this issue.
The first thing you could try is changing your APN Settings, which you can get my calling your carrier. If this does not work for you like it does for others, then you could click on SMS and then SMS enabled, then select mobile networks and then make certain data enabled is selected. If it was already ticked, then try unticking it and ticking it again.
Two others solutions would be to perform a factory reset or make certain your carrier has the correct IMEI associated with your handset, as this has been known to happen.
If you are still unable to get MMS to work in Hangouts, then there is a chance you have a defective Nexus 5 and may need to send it back.
