Nexus 5 launch skipped by budget buyers

While anticipation for the rumored Nexus 5 remains high, it does not seem to be high on the list for budget Android users, as they have been taking advantage of a substantial Nexus 4 price drop. You will now be able to get the 8GB version for £159 and the 16GB model for £199 in the UK.

However, if you live in the US then the new Nexus 4 price is $199 for the 8GB model, down from $299, a huge saving of $100. There have been similar price cuts in other countries as well, such as $249 in Australia, $199 in Canada and €199 in parts of Europe.

We should not be surprised by this price cut because it has been almost a year since the Nexus 4 was released, and we very much expect a new model to be released in October and could look like this latest concept.

Some skeptics would say this price drop is in anticipation of tougher competition once Apple release their new iPhone, but not sure why this would bother Android users, unless they like what they have seen with iOS 7?

Nexus 5 release or Nexus 4 v2? There have been rumors to suggest that LG will not be involved with the Nexus 5 and that Motorola is working on a new Nexus 4 instead.

Whatever the case may be, buyers on a budget do not seem to care about this and have decided to skip the Nexus 5 launch.
