Nexus 5, 4 Android 5.0 Lollipop release date anxiety

Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 owners are continuing to face an anxious wait for the highly anticipated Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 Android 5.0 Lollipop update release date. We expected the new update to go live earlier this week, but Google has reportedly run into problems and will release the latest version of Android next week instead.

We told you about Android 5.0 Lollipop battery life problems here that Google had discovered. Now, these issues have thought to have been fixed and we should see the rollout recommence from November 12 – if insider tipoffs are to be confirmed.

Google has yet to make a big statement on the fact that Lollipop didn’t arrive on Monday, but as long as they deliver next week, consumers will be satisfied we expect.

The Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 devices will ship with Lollipop pre-installed of course, which is why Google are now spending time to ensure that the rest of their Nexus family is updated successfully.

After that, attention will then switch to Samsung who are expected to be next in line to deliver Lollipop to their full range of Galaxy-based devices such as the Galaxy S5.

How nervous and excited are you though about the Android 5.0 Lollipop update? It does now seem apparent that there were one or two issues behind the scenes, so are you willing to let Google take as long as they need to ensure that the update doesn’t go live with further issues?

If you are a Nexus 5 or Nexus 4 user, let us know if you are waiting on any news on the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Will you be happy if it releases next week, but upset if Google takes longer than a week to launch Lollipop at last?
