Nexus 4 and 5 Android 4.4.3, not just Wi-Fi problems

Some Nexus devices were first to get Android 4.4.3 KitKat, such as the Nexus 4 and 5 and while most people seem to be happy with the latest update, there are some of you who have been experiencing a few issues. This is a real shame because 4.4.3 was said to have fixed many of the problems, but it seems as though there are new bugs to contend with.

What is even more worrying is there seems to be the return of a persistent problem, and that is the Wi-Fi issues that many Nexus 4 and 5 owners suffered with Android 4.4.2. One would have assumed that Google would have been able to resolve this issue, but once again the engineering team have let Android users down.

However, that is not the only Nexus 4 and 5 Android 4.4.3 problem, as we have heard from a few of our readers saying that they have suffered from random shutdowns, connectivity issues with 3G, the battery drain has not been fixed, and even a few apps are still not working correctly.

The most notable app having issues after the Android 4.4.3 update is the camera, and is also another of those issues that was rife in 4.4.2. Other apps affected are the Google Play Store, as well as the BBC app.

Nexus 4 suffers more — It would seem that it is the Nexus 4 that suffers most following the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update, as there have been contact issues where the screen is blank, as well as call history, the dialer often crashes, and names does not often show up right away when someone is calling.

You can boot from safe mode to disable certain apps, but this isn’t going to resolve those other issues, and so we wait to see if Google rushes out a minor update just for the Nexus 4 and 5.
