Adobe have been teasing one of the new features from the next Photoshop CC update, which is called Content Aware Crop Tool. Looking at the video below we would say that it is a very similar feature to Content Aware Fill Tool introduced with Photoshop CS5. However, the difference with this is that it will fill in the corner gaps intelligently, as well as cropping after straightening.
It’s clear in the video that this tool will be very welcome to those that are eager to have those missing gaps filled in an easy and practical way thanks to some complicated textures. Things that are easily filled in includes fluffy clouds, gravel grounds and also other large areas.
You will notice by watching the Content-Aware Crop introduction video that is coming to Photoshop CC soon that this feature is not a game changer, as related patterns could be recognized, which is where you may then start to run into trouble.
People have already been asking how the algorithm helps to fill in the dead space, but Adobe is staying very quite on that for now. The very same people are also curious as to whether this feature will be coming to Lightroom CC, and that’s another question that has yet to be answered.
However, with a suspected Photoshop CC update release date said to be set for this July, maybe Adobe will share more next month?
