Next generation Ford Focus dimensions and engines

The Ford Focus is the ideal car if you feel the Fiesta is too small, yet the Mondeo too large, and so is the perfect balance between the two. However, if you feel that it just needs to be that bit larger, then the next-generation Focus is set to become bigger.

We’re told that the next generation Ford Focus dimensions are not known to us at this time, but looking at the images from KGP Photography via Autoblog, we can see that the vehicle has grown slightly.

Looking at the spy photos it’s clear to see that the body of the car has stretched over the current model, and more material has been used in the body to compensate for a larger platform.

Next generation Ford Focus engines

There are several areas of the car that you can see have changed that gives it a larger look, and so we suspect that passengers sitting in the rear will have a fraction more legroom.

Let’s not forget that the images do not show a final production model, but rather a test mule, which is why it looks as though extra bits have been added, and also gaps where the windows and doors don’t fit very well.

As for the next Ford Focus release date, we believe that this will not happen until late in 2017, or early 2018. Then there are those engine options, which should offer a choice of three- and four-cylinder options with EcoBoost, and no doubt diesel as well.
